Cryotherapy uses nitrous oxide to precisely freeze and remove unwanted skin lesions. The treatment is quick, minimally invasive, and performed by our trained healthcare professionals.
Cryotherapy service costs vary based on the size, number, and complexity of the affected area or skin lesion. A personalized quote will be provided during your consultation.
Cryotherapy is a highly advanced, non-invasive treatment that uses extreme cold to freeze and destroy unwanted tissue. The service supplied at our clinic is carried out in a sterile, professional environment utilising specialised CryoPen technology.
The CryoPen works by applying a high-pressure, fine jet of liquid nitrous oxide directly onto the target tissue. Because the jet is accurate to the millimetre, it freezes the lesion’s cellular structure quickly and accurately. This intense, targeted freezing cuts off the blood supply to the lesion, allowing the treated area to safely break down, scab over, and naturally drop off over the following weeks while minimising damage to the healthy surrounding skin.
Our certified clinical pharmacists can safely assess and treat a wide range of benign surface skin lesions, including:
Small, harmless growths of flesh-coloured tissue that commonly develop in high-friction areas like the neck, armpits, and groin.
Flat, pigmented patches of skin (also known as sun spots or solar lentigines) that appear on sun-exposed areas.
Common, non-cancerous skin growths that often look raised, rough, or have a distinct "stuck-on" appearance.
Small, benign, bright red spots on the skin made up of a collection of superficial blood vessels.
General minor imperfections that are clinically suitable for cryotherapy treatment.
Common, rough viral skin growths that frequently appear on the hands, fingers, and joints.
Deep, often painful warts found on the soles of the feet that can cause substantial discomfort when walking.
Flat or raised areas of non-cancerous pigment that can be effectively treated.
We can manage and treat clusters of multiple lesions during a single session.
Specialised treatment pathways for stubborn or recurrent viral lesions.
Our clinical team is trained to identify and manage a variety of other benign skin irregularities. If you have a specific skin concern not listed above, please book a consultation so our pharmacists can conduct a thorough assessment and discuss the most appropriate treatment options for your individual needs.
Please select the appropriate consultation or treatment pathway below to book your appointment.
Face-to-Face Assessment: A face-to-face assessment is strictly required before any treatment can proceed.
Session Requirements: Most lesions require 1–3 treatment sessions. Please note that additional treatments may be required for stubborn or larger lesions.
Safety Exclusions: Our pharmacists can only treat lesions that are definitively benign. If our clinical team notes any irregular borders, multi-coloured pigmentation, asymmetrical shapes, or characteristics that mimic skin cancer during your inspection, we will not perform cryotherapy. In such cases, we will provide a formal clinical documentation card and refer you immediately to your GP or a dermatology specialist for further investigation.
To facilitate a safe, uncompromised, and highly efficient medical consultation, please observe the following pre-treatment guidelines:
Clean the Target Area: Please ensure the skin surrounding the lesion is clean, dry, and entirely free from perfumes, heavy moisturisers, tanning products, or cosmetic makeup on the day of your appointment.
Wear Accessible Clothing: Please wear loose, easily adjustable clothing or layers that grant our clinician quick, unhindered access to the specific area of your body requiring treatment.
Know the History of the Lesion: Be prepared to inform our pharmacist how long the skin imperfection has been present, if it has changed in shape, colour, or size recently, or if it has ever bled or caused intense pain.
Your treatment pathway is fully comprehensive, ensuring you receive professional guidance and ongoing care:
A thorough evaluation of your skin lesion by our expert team.
A dedicated check to ensure cryotherapy is the safest and most effective option for your specific needs.
Precise, professional application of medical-grade freezing technology.
Expert guidance on how to manage the treated area for optimal recovery.
Clear, take-home documentation to guide your post-treatment care.
Dedicated clinical support should you have any questions or require post-treatment assistance.
The clinician uses a specialised, fine-tip medical pen to apply the freezing agent directly to the lesion for a matter of seconds. You will feel a localised stinging or pinching sensation, similar to an ice cube pressed hard against the skin, which subsides rapidly.
Immediately following treatment, the area may appear slightly red or swollen. Over the next 48 hours, a small blister or darkened crust may form over the lesion—this is a perfectly healthy, expected physiological response indicating that the targeted cells have been successfully neutralised.
Do not pick, scratch, or try to peel the treated area. Let the crust naturally drop off over the course of 1 to 3 weeks (verrucas on the feet may take slightly longer due to thicker skin layers).
While many skin tags and small warts disappear completely after a single precision treatment, deep-rooted verrucas or larger lesions may occasionally require a secondary booster session to clear entirely.
During the treatment, you will feel a localised stinging, biting, or pinching sensation as the medical freezing agent is precisely applied to the skin lesion. This sensation is similar to holding an ice cube firmly against your skin; it is temporary and subsides rapidly within a few minutes after the procedure is complete.
Many benign lesions, such as smaller skin tags, milia, and light surface warts, can be completely eliminated in a single precision treatment. However, deeper or more resilient skin issues—particularly deep-rooted verrucas on the soles of the feet—may occasionally require a secondary booster session to fully clear.
Immediately following your session, the treated area may appear slightly red, swollen, or dark. Over the next 24 to 48 hours, it is common for a small blister or a dark, firm crust to form over the lesion; this is a healthy physiological response indicating that the targeted cells have been successfully neutralised.
